This action involves an automobile collision followed by one car crashing into a utility pole. During the evening of August 31, 1968, plaintiff-respondent Michael Weiss, then a minor, was riding with his father, Raymond Weiss, in the family automobile in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The automobile was traveling in a westerly direction on West Mill Road when it collided with an automobile driven by James Holman, a defendant-respondent herein. The Holman automobile was traveling in a northerly direction on North 84th Street at the time of the collision. According to the complaint, the Weiss automobile caromed off the Holman vehicle and struck a utility pole belonging to the defendant-appellant, Wisconsin Electric Power Company, which pole was allegedly located on the northwest corner of the intersection, four feet from the West Mill Road roadway. As a result of the accident Michael Weiss received severe injuries and required extensive hospitalization.
